The primary responsibility of the controls engineer is todesign, develop, and maintain control systems for various types of machines and equipment.
Specific duties and requirements include, but are not limited to:
* Responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC, HMI, safety, servo, and vision-based hardware and software including, but not limited to: RS Logix 500/5000, Siemens, AVIX View, FT View Studio, SICK, etc.
* Machine vision experience and knowledge (Keyence, Cognex, Data logic, etc.)
* Must be able to determine correct size of electrical components for PLC or PC based systems.
* Have a working knowledge of HMI (Human Machine Interface) devices.
* Design and engineering of programmable logic controls (PLC's) and modifications for a wide variety of manufacturing production equipment
* Direct electrical assembly activities such as panel fabrication and component wiring
* Evaluate and approve new equipment electrical and PLC programs for accuracy, function, completeness and documentation.
* To assist in the troubleshooting of machine malfunctions to include electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
* Must be able to interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot wiring circuits.
* Develop/ Maintain electrical design, schematics, and drawings in AutoCAD
* Capable of troubleshooting hard-wired relay logic machine control panels. This includes field repairs, i.e., replacing existing components and wiring.
* Have a working knowledge and experience with multiple phase electrical systems, including electrical distribution systems consisting of buss and switchgear equipment.
* Systems integration of 3rd party equipment and peripherals
* Minimal travel may be required
* Will work closely with Process Engineers and Maintenance Engineers to ensure robust processes and Logic are in place.
* Must be willing and able to work a flexible shift and overtime hours based on business needs
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
* Experience in Ethernet networking is preferred.
* Experience in Fanuc robotics troubleshooting/programming preferred
* Experience in Allen Bradley troubleshooting/programming preferred
* High School Diploma or GED preferred
* Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Engineering Technology with at least 3 years of manufacturing experience or a minimum of 5 years of Controls experience in a Manufacturing facility
